ASK ANYTHING

Leaders:

David Hammerslag and Charlie Collier

Meeting time:

6:30 to 8:00pm

1st and 3rd Tuesday

Meeting place:

The Harp Pub

1744 S. Val Vista Dr., Mesa AZ 85204

(The Village Square at Dana Park)

How can Jesus hear everyone praying all at once? Are members of other faiths saved? Can you lose your salvation? Why would a good God send people to hell? If God knows everything, why should I bother praying? Infant baptism or believer baptism? Is gambling wrong?    Why are Graeme’s sermons so long?

Do you have questions about Christian faith and practice that you can’t seem to answer? Do you have friends and neighbors who have questions? Well, we may not have the answers, but together, over something to drink and maybe a snack, we can talk through the questions in a non-confrontational, open way. Even if we don’t find the answer we will learn more about the question, each other, and ourselves.

Every Monday

Meeting place:

The Café at WMC

Here is a unique introductory study course that will help you see and understand the Bible’s big story in a way that you’ve probably never experienced before! With resources such as The Biblical Tell-Tale Time-Line, an accompanying book, PowerPoint presentations, and lots of time for discussion, you will gain a new understanding of the grand sweep of the biblical narrative – from creation to Christ. You’ll become more familiar with the themes, covenants and events of the Old Testament period. Most importantly, you’ll then be able to see how the story culminates in Jesus the Messiah, how he deals with all that preceded Him, and what that means for you today.

Cost for materials: $8.00.

Every marriage is a growing marriage. The real question is: Are you growing closer together or further apart? If you desire the kind of marriage that keeps getting better, then you’ll need to be intentional. This book group study will start you in the right direction. Using Dr. Gary Chapman’s book, A Couple’s Guide to a Growing Marriage, together we will discover:

  • how to invite God into the details of your life and marriage;
  • how to listen in ways that deepen intimacy and friendship;
  • how to understand your spouse…and be understood;
  • how to keep your love fresh and mutually engaging; and
  • how to manage conflict constructively, instead of destructively.

You are invited to join us as we read and discuss the book by Bill Johnson, Hosting the Presence. Have you wondered…

  • How some people seem able to access the presence of the Lord and how to make that true in your own life?
  • How to meet with Holy Spirit on a daily basis in order to have intimate fellowship with the Lord?
  • Where is this house of fellowship to be found for the believer? How can we access this relationship that Jesus mentioned?

Each of us is created by the Lord to be able to hear His voice and sense His presence on a daily basis. There is great excitement and wonder when the Holy Spirit speaks to you. You will never forget what He said to you or where you were when He spoke. If you would like to learn how to experience this type of relationship, join us as we discuss and learn about a deeper intimacy with the Presence of the Most High.

IMMERSE BIBLE READING EXPERIENCE

Leader:

Graeme Sellers

Meeting time:

6:30-8:00 PM

Every Tuesday

Meeting place:

The Café at WMC

1351 East Guadalupe Road

Gilbert, Arizona 85234

Immerse is built on three core ideas: reading a naturally-formatted Bible, reading at length, and having unmediated discussions about it together. By simply reading and then gathering once a week in a “book club” style group, you will have a place to voice your questions, talk about your concerns, and celebrate “aha!” moments together. The Immerse experience is designed to take you through a significant portion of the Bible in eight weeks. The Bible Reading Experience begins its three-year journey through the Bible with the Messiah volume, which will reinforce that Jesus is the center of the whole biblical narrative. The format is intentionally uncomplicated. There are no DVD curricula and no workbooks. Instead, you will talk through questions like, “What stood out to you this week?” or “Was there anything confusing or troubling?”

Note: each participant must purchase an electronic or paperback copy of Immerse: Messiah, available on Amazon or Tyndale. This group requires 20-30 minutes of reading five days a week. (order# 10236670). Paperback copies can be purchased from WMC for $8.

Maximum group size: 12

YOUTH LIFE TOGETHER

Leaders:

Lindsay Elizabeth

Meeting time:

6:00 to 7:30 PM

Every Sunday

Meeting place:

The Café at WMC

1351 East Guadalupe Road

Gilbert, Arizona 85234

We all have questions: Who is God? How do you hear God’s voice? How does Scripture apply to life today? How do you follow Jesus and what does it look like? If God is good, why do bad things happen? Youth Life Together is a place where it is safe to ask the hard questions.

We meet every Sunday night at Wonderful Mercy from 6:00-7:30 p.m., with a special event once a month. All youth (7th-12th grade) are welcome, whether you have grown up in the church or are just curious about God. Our goal is to build friendships as we learn not just what Jesus said or did but meet Jesus face to face. Plus, we have a lot of fun!
