We will learn how the root meaning of Hebrew words make the stories of the Old Testament and parables of Jesus come alive. A fresh look at our relationship with Christ and each other as believers will come alive. At each gathering the members of the group will share their new in- sights of the scriptures. Through the study of Scripture, Christians will explore God's call to engage in bringing about justice on earth. While coming to a deeper knowledge and understanding of biblical justice, participants will draw personal application for the pursuit of justice ministry in their individual lives and the wider church.

Prepare to have your heart and mind engaged, to be instructed by Scripture, and to be challenged by real-life stories of people freed by the God of justice. This curriculum will help you and your church bring freedom, restoration and reconciliation to those in need. Discover how God reveals himself to those who join him on his justice journey!

Although most of what we do together will be consensus driven, we will focus on learning to do life together: praying for each other, caring for each other, and serving others identified by the group. The only require- ment for the activities that we select is that the activity helps us pray/care for each other/others and/or that the activity helps us learn how do to life together.

Consider joining this “spiritual formation" group exploring the process of spiritual

growth. The group experience and reflection is based upon a chapter by chapter reading of the book “Mansions of the Heart” by Thomas Ashbrook, while also using the accompanying “Study Guide for Personal and Group Reflection.” Through personal study, reflection and group interaction participants are given the opportunity to simply experience God as they grow in their understanding of how He facilitates our spiritual growth.

C. S. Lewis was one of the most influential lay theologians and Christian apologist (one who explains or defends the faith) in the 20th century. One of his land- mark books is “Mere Christianity.” Lewis explains the basics of the faith and what it means to be a Christian. Lewis covers why we would believe that there is a God, what Christians believe, Christian behavior and morality, and understanding the trinity.

Lewis was brilliant, but he can be hard for today’s reader to understand. This is a chance to get acquainted with Lewis’ work in a safe place to explore together our understanding of what Lewis was teaching.

Note: You’ll need your own copy of “Mere Christianity” (about $10).

The Spirit is speaking. Can you hear Him?

You are invited to be a part of a Life To- gether Group where you will experience and participate in “group spiritual direction”. Using the basic principles of the ministry of spiritual direction (normally one-on-one), group members will experience together what it means to be listened to and loved by others, and to listen more attentively to God in our daily lives.

The Spirit is speaking to you and others. God invites us all into a deeper experience of his love. Here is an opportunity in which you and a group of soul friends can listen for and with each other as you seek God together… and learn to love others as you have been loved.

Have you wanted to gain or regain your health but don’t have the tools or support to start the journey? Are you challenged with a chronic disease that has left you with much pain, many losses and uncertainty? We have been created to be “whole” physically, emotionally and spiritual- ly. What does that mean? This group will explore how every choice we make, from the words we speak to ourselves and others, to the food we put in our mouth, results in life or death in our bodies. We will learn through knowledge and experience. We will share our struggles but focus on our successes. We will encour- age each other to choose life. We are on a journey toward wholeness. What will be your next step?

Meeting place:

We all have questions: Who is God? How do you hear God’s voice? How does scripture apply to life today? Is Christianity simply following a moral code? How do you follow Jesus and what does it look like?

Youth Life Together is a place where it is safe to ask the hard questions. We meet every Sunday night at Wonderful Mercy from 6pm-7:30pm with the occasional special event. All youth (7th-12th grade) are welcome, whether they have grown up in the church or are just curious about God. We are currently beginning a study on the life of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, our goal is not just to learn what Jesus said or did but to meet Him face to face. Plus, we have a LOT of fun!
